Ok Guys and Gals

I have a general question.. I am looking into buying a new audio setup.... I want to break things with this... I want huge Db.... what do i do .. i am looking at subs and they say they sound like crap....

I listen to techno... there are few words so would i notice any sound "quality" difference.. i mean load is loud... how can one judge quality at 160 db???

any input at all would be good

thank you,
~Shane~

Deafness comes into play at around 90-100dB.
Have you ever really been in a car with 120dB playing?
Just something to think about.

their is no such thing as sq at 160 db.. I put my head in Team Shadows car one time when they were playing it after a show and my ears rang for a couple hours after.

The thing about SPL is that most of the gains come from the box/car being built from it. You can buy Thump subs and hit almost 150 db. (It's been done ) There are subs that will be louder than others but not a huge amount. For SPL you can't just have subs and amps. It's a combibnation of the whole intsall. But what it boils down to is money. You can have a loud system thats play only one note really loud or you can have a system that is fairly loud that'll play the whole spectrum loud. Car aduio is all about compremises. WHats yours?

Well i don't do competitions.. but i have money to kick around... coming soon of course ... so i am exploring my options...

So i have Brown bread on its way and i am working around that.. i sold my old deck amps and subs, to start fresh.

So i don't want to hit just one note.. i want the whole spectrum loud but Techno/trance music is just basically treble and a lot of bass so i guess sound quality in a sense is not the issue.. since i am not blaring classical or instramental

Yes it has

I also beg to differ about the playing music and and not sounding good at 160 db. THe Arc Audio/Rainbow truck at IASCA could and did play music at over 160db and still sound awesome, man that thing was loud though, but still very clean. Same thing with the certified radio "beast" here in edmonton.L8er
