I did my box for the passenger side of my truck. Not close to as good as a lot of the builds I have seen here but I lack vision right now. This was built simply to give me some lows that I didn't have.

And to be fair it was my second attempt at building something for the back seat. My old box was just built and there was no time or much effort building it, took about an hour. So I took the time did the math and although the enclosure still prevents the passenger seat from being pushed back all the way I did gain 2 inches top and and 3 at the bottom which allows the seat to be pushed back. I think I might pull it apart and mount the sub on the inside which would give me another inch or so.

Single cab Dakotas are hard. There isn't a lot of room behind the seat and the console isn't worth trying to rebuild IMO.

Basically what you have is close to what you are going to be able to do. You could use fibreglass for the back and the bottom to gain a little more air but there just isn't much space.

The Dakota is a perfect candidate for a cab cut, but most guys won't consider it.

I think I might try it but I might use fiberglass and I hope with the help of a fabricator buddy of mine to maybe throw in some carbon fiber if he can get his hands on some off cuts.

This project is to start this week and I will be adding more wood for more air flow. I don't think he has enough for the 2 10's he is using from what I have been reading.
