It took me a while to figure this out. I can set off a 508D, set almost to 0 sensitivity, using wifi. I have wifi devices in the car that connect to the house. WHen this occurs it will set off the 508D.

What frequency does the 508D work on ? I cant find and FCC numbers to look it up. I suspect its operating at, or close to, 2.4Ghz ?

I can set the sensor off by simply turning on hotspot on the phone while standing close to the car.

This has made the sensor useless for me with a lot of false triggers..

Is there a motion sensor that is not triggered by wifi ? Has anyone found a way around this issue ?

Does the 508D use S Band microwave RF for motion sensing ? If so, then yea, it would be susceptible to 2.4Ghz wifi.. It really should use X Band motion sensing.

As far a technology goes, the 508D, and car motion sensors i can see, are really junk VS the real thing. While commercial motion sensors will work fine on 12V they just work in too large a area to be used.. These do tho show what technologies a car motion sensor should have.

So I am looking to verify that the 508D is working on the old technology S Band microwave signals AND I would like to know if anyone hows of a more serious way to do RF/PIR dual tech in a car.
