Stop whining about points!

ok for me the points are critical.. sorry bill.. but to be the best in canada i need to have the most points.. i try to make as many sanctioned shows as possible while still keeping my family happy, and keep the hockey team happy, i play every sunday, and iam the only goalie on my team. so for me to go 14hrs to a car show just to show off my car and skills, and to be judged by someone who holds no credibility, doesnt make any sense for me..... now that being said, i will go to local non sanctioned shows to help support u guys but its got to be within reason ie 3hrs. or less each way. these guys that do spend a bizzillion bucks on there car just to show it off for no points, awards, or acolades. well i bet they dont have a yound son at home who they only get on the weekends, a gorgeous wife, or other hobbies that demand there attention.. I love this hobbie and have been going to shows since 1989.that includes going to finals in tempe arizona, supporting most shows over the last 8 yrs. be it iasca or usaci. i have donated prizes out of my own pocket to shows, and have no problems suppling the cold wobblie pops for anyone who want to enjoy a cool beverage.. for me this hobbie is alot of fun and i have met some wicked cool people.. but right now in my life i would like to get as many points as possible...

I here what you are saying and I do agree. I too have a young family etc. etc. The cost of doing a show, with prizes etc...is not condusive almost always...I hope that our shop gets recognized for the shows (I treat it as advertising dollars lost). Your right oldie car guys, are usually retired and have no kids to support, so showing off their cars becomes their hobbie, no matter how far they have to travel...The point of this thread is to have light a fire under some peoples butts and understand that if you are an hour or two from a shop hosting a show (points or no points), come out and show off their rides, no matter if their 16 or 76! I know that this is dreaming but what the heck, my shop was built on dreams...
